I just downloaded this program and have been experimenting with viewing a house design that we are preparing to build. I am using the free version currently. When viewing the outside of the house, the sky area is always black in brighter3d… even after mostly following the directions above (I could not find the area to adjust the ‘Sun samples’ and ‘Sky samples’ – it was just a switch for either on or off). Even though these direction did not specify to use ‘Background selection’ as ‘Daylight sun and sky’, I did but it is still black. I have tried various combinations but, regardless, the sky is still black (Sketchup 2016 settings are set to what was stated above). What do I need to do in order to see the sky… which I am assuming is what is referred to as direct daylighting?
more and a bit more clearer tutorial stuff like this!!!

– environment settings
– how to get transparent backgrounds incl. opening the render in PSD
